U.K. lawmakers urged the government to tighten proposed corruption laws, saying companies should shoulder the blame when their employees use bribes at home or abroad.
The cross-party committee set up to examine the draft Bribery Bill recommends making a company or partnership “strictly liable” for any bribe paid by a person performing services on its behalf, except where the organization proves that adequate anti-bribery procedures were in place.
