Switzerland, Norway Agree To Revise Double-Taxation Agreement

The Swiss government said Wednesday it has agreed to revise existing pacts with Norway on double taxation, a move triggered by recent concessions made by Switzerland on banking secrecy.

Switzerland and Norway have agreed at a technical level to the extension of administrative assistance in tax matters under Article 26 of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s Model Convention. The tax authorities of both States initialled a revised double taxation agreement, or DTA, in Oslo. The DTA was negotiated in accordance with the key points agreed by the Federal Council.
