This briefing, designed for negotiators and delegates at the Third Financing for Development Conference, addresses concerns around the proposed creation of a universal and equitable intergovernmental body on tax issues, and goes over some of the reasons why it’s vital to creating a global financial system that works for everyone involved.

On 22 June, the FTC submitted a letter to the head of the Secretariat of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes to highlight our concerns regarding the OECD common reporting standard on cross-border information exchange. The letter touched on concerns of confidentiality requirements and multilateralism, among other issues.
