OECD: Pressure to end tax evasion grows as the Global Forum publishes new reviews

Reports on Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Guatemala, Malta, Mexico, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Slovak Republic evaluate whether their national laws allow transparency and international exchange of tax information (Phase 1). The review of Korea also looked at the effectiveness of Korea’s exchange of information in practice (Phase 1 plus Phase 2). These reports bring to a total of 70 the number of peer review the g Global Forum has completed since March 2010.

The Link between Tax and Development is Scrutinized by the UK Parliament

Latindadd and other civil society organisations recently sent their contributions to the UK parliamentary inquiry into tax in developing countries. In its call, the International Development Committee of the UK parliament highlighted that “developing countries lose an estimated $ 160 billion each year through tax avoidance by multinational companies (including those based in the UK)” and the important role of the extractive industries, “where payments to governments are often not disclosed and may not contribute to development or poverty reduction.”

We've Been Nominated as a "Leading Force" on Transfer Pricing by TPWeek

The Task Force on Financial Integrity and Economic Development has been nominated by Transfer Pricing Weekly as a "leading force on global transfer pricing development." Nominated alongside us were partner organization ActionAid, as well as The United Nations, the OECD, U.S. President Barack Obama, Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, among others.
