This is an issue of paramount importance: estimates by Global Financial Integrity, Christian Aid and others show that hundreds of billions of dollars are estimated to be shifted out of developing countries each year by this method alone. The New York Times published an
article today about a wealthy former UBS client, Steven Michael Rubinstein, who plead guilty to filing false tax returns - failing to disclose his offshore UBS accounts that he was funneling money through.
